Get to know Shimya
Shimya Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate at Lifeologie Counseling Frisco, where she is passionate about supporting mental health in children, teens, and adults as they navigate life transitions and develop their sense of identity. She specializes in individual adult therapy and play therapy for children ages 6–16, and sees clients with anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and stress.
Shimya’s interest in counseling began during her work with individuals with intellectual disabilities, an experience that deeply shaped her understanding of emotional regulation and the importance of mental health. Her personal and professional journey inspired her to pursue and complete a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.
Shimya’s treatment approach is rooted in the belief that every person is unique. She draws from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and play therapy approaches that create a supportive and affirming space for clients to explore their authentic selves.
Shimya strives to create a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where you are seen, supported, and challenged. She aims to balance encouragement with accountability and tailor each session to meet your unique needs.
Shimya offers a healing and transformative experience rooted in authenticity, empathy, and meaningful connection. When you work together, you’ll feel truly seen and heard whether you're laughing, crying, or anything in between.
With a warm, relatable presence and strong listening skills, Shimya creates a space where emotional expression is not only accepted but encouraged. Her goal is to support you in unveiling your wholeness, empowering you to live freely, and equipping you with practical tools to thrive in your daily life.
