Get to know James

Jim Ming has more than 25 years' experience helping people with difficult relationships and issues in business. Now, Jim helps individuals and couples find solutions for life's challenges. Some of his focus areas include men’s issues, trauma and EMDR, grief, life transitions, career issues, LGBTQ+ affirming counseling, aging and senior issues, and gender identity issues.

Jim works with you to create an environment of warmth, openness, and empathy. His approach is humanistic, exploratory, and practical. He enjoys working together to explore emotions and key life experiences and uncover thoughts, actions, or beliefs that may no longer be effective. Jim believes that awareness opens the door to change, and the answers to feeling better may already be within you. He enjoys working with people to reduce distress, overcome obstacles, and achieve their goals.

Jim has a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University, a BS in Industrial Relations, and a Master's of Human Resources & Labor Relations from Michigan State University. As a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate, Jim is under the supervision of Chris Jones, Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor.
