Walk Out of the Darkness for Suicide Prevention

Shine a light on suicide prevention by joining Lifeologie Counseling Raleigh’s team at the Central Carolina Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk September 28 at Ting Park in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

Registration is open to all and begins at 9:30 am, with the walk starting at 10:30 am. Sponsors, including Lifeologie Counseling Raleigh, will have staff at tables on site to share who we are and what we do to support mental health in the community.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. AFSP creates a culture that’s smart about mental health through education and community programs, develops suicide prevention through research and advocacy, and provides support for those affected by suicide.

Each year, more than 660,000 people are taken to emergency departments in the United States with self-harm injuries, often leaving devastated loved ones behind. Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the US, and rates have increased for people ages 15-44 since 2015.

There is no fee to register, but walkers who raise $150 by September 28 to help AFSP meet their fundraising goal will receive an official Walk With Us Out Of the Darkness T-shirt. You can walk individually, but since this event is about coming together, we hope you’ll join Lifeologie Counseling Raleigh’s team and help support our mission!
