Get to know Meagan

Meagan offers comprehensive services dealing with traumatic experiences, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and behavioral, emotional and attachment difficulties. She often involves parents, family members and other supports in treatment due to her use of a systemic lens. She also enjoys working collaboratively with outside providers and helping clients identify additional resources that may be beneficial for their goals.

Meagan is excited to be working with clients in the Raleigh area. Meagan approaches counseling through a client-led, integrative perspective. She has experience utilizing evidence-based practices: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), structural family therapy and family systems theory. She also utilizes techniques from solution-focused therapy and emotion-focused therapy. Meagan believes that all clients are unique and her experience utilizing different models allows her to tailor therapy to client’s specific needs.

It is her goal to provide a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental space for clients and families to grow. Meagan believes the relationship you have with your therapist is one of the most important aspects of the therapy process and understands finding the right therapist is a very personal decision - she would consider it a privilege to support you and your family on the path to meaningful change.

Meagan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She has lived in North Carolina the majority of her life and considers Raleigh home. She attributes her passion for family work to one of her first jobs- working as an aide for children diagnosed with autism. Through observations in this setting, Meagan saw the direct influence of the family system on her client and became passionate about adjusting treatment goals to increase understanding of all family members.

After graduating from North Carolina State University, Meagan decided to study Marriage and Family Therapy in order to more effectively apply the concepts she observed in her aide position. She received her master’s degree from East Carolina University. After graduation, Meagan began providing clinical services within a local community-based agency. Her clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents and families as well as providing counseling services for individuals, ages 5-17, who are experiencing various mental illnesses.

In her free time, Meagan enjoys spending time with her husband, friends and her dog. She enjoys fashion and design and loves finding unique, one of a kind pieces. She tries her best to balance staying active and binging Netflix. She also loves trying new restaurants and local experiences in the area or traveling somewhere new when she has the chance.
