Elizabeth "Lizzy" Brubaker

Elizabeth "Lizzy" Brubaker, LCMHCA, offers therapy for adolescents and adults navigating grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and trauma, particularly religious and spiritual trauma. Lizzy provides counseling through a LGBTQIA+ affirming, disability-informed lens that centers each client as the expert of their own experience. She sees clients online and in-person at Lifeologie Counseling Raleigh.

Lizzy considers it an honor to create a safe space in which clients can reflect on their own values and goals, process difficult emotions, events, or relationships, identify patterns of behavior, develop coping or emotional regulation skills, and find greater understanding of themselves.

She values having an eclectic toolkit of counseling modalities to tailor counseling for her clients. She draws from Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and approaches sessions with curiosity, warmth, and collaboration.

She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling on the Psychiatric Disabilities track at UNC at Chapel Hill and received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Davidson College. Her clinical experience includes hospital and case management settings in addition to conventional therapy, informing her sensitive and holistic approach.

Lizzy grew up in Brunswick, Georgia, and now resides in Cary, North Carolina with her partner and a feisty mini schnauzer named Poppy. She enjoys scrapbooking, crocheting, playing piano or clarinet, going on walks, and playing video games and board games.
