Get to know Emma
Emma Butler is a compassionate therapist with a focus on helping adults and adolescents navigate life’s curveballs—whether they’re wrestling with major transitions, family dynamics, or the weight of job-related stress. Specializing in intimate partner violence, sexuality, and empowerment, Emma combines a humanistic approach with an insightful understanding of how past experiences shape our present-day emotions, behaviors, and relationships. She believes that much of the struggle clients face stems from outdated coping mechanisms and a lack of self-compassion.
Her therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and authentic. Emma creates a space where vulnerability is welcomed, humor is sometimes the best medicine, and clients can explore sensitive topics like sexuality and personal empowerment without fear of judgment. Drawing from theories like birth order dynamics, she helps individuals better understand how they fit into the family puzzle and navigate their social worlds.
Emma completed her Master’s in Counseling with a focus on Clinical Mental Health at Southern Methodist University in 2024. Outside of therapy, you can find her making pizza with her boyfriend, exploring with her dog Henry, or indulging in a good book by the pool. An Illinois native, Emma adores the Midwest, visits friends and family when possible, but doesn’t miss the subzero winters.
