Get to know Katie

Katie got the counseling bug at eight years old while participating in therapy with her family as they dealt with her father’s leukemia diagnosis. She learned the value of being heard and validated. She became well informed with topics such as grief, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, ADHD, suicidal ideation and narcissistic behaviors, and decided to spend the next half of her journey helping others work through difficult issues and problematic relationships.  In addition to her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, she is trained in Safe Conversations and Level 1 Emotionally Focused Therapy.

She wants to help people discover and experience their authentic selves as individuals and in relationship with others.  Through thoughtful exploration and careful awareness in a safe and compassionate environment, Katie believes growth and transformation are possible. Using Emotionally Focused skills to examine emotions, family systems and attachment patterns, she hopes to work together to refine and deepen meaningful, enduring connections with self and others.

Katie’s happy place is in the mountains hiking with her dog, Finn, and soaking up a sunset.
