Get to know Laura
Counseling intern Laura Quinonez offers a warm, supportive, and collaborative space for clients to feel heard and understood at Lifeologie Counseling Uptown. Laura is especially interested in supporting clients who are navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, substance use, addictive behaviors, and other challenges that can leave them feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
Laura is excited to continue learning and deepening her understanding of how to support individuals and families, especially those impacted by substance use and related concerns. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater self-awareness, confidence, and emotional balance and offers sessions in both English and Spanish.
Laura believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful growth, and she strives to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and free to be themselves. She also values the practical side of counseling and enjoys helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build healthy coping skills, and develop tools they can use in everyday life.
Laura’s counseling style is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Ultimately, her goal is to empower clients to trust themselves, make decisions that align with their values, and feel more confident moving forward.
Originally from the small town of Hope, Arkansas (birthplace of Bill Clinton and home of the annual Watermelon Festival!), Laura brings a grounded, genuine, and approachable presence to her work. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas and is currently pursuing her Master's in Counseling at Southern Arkansas University.
Outside of the therapy space, Laura enjoys traveling, working out, cooking, and spending time outdoors. She also loves spending time with her dog, Leeda, who has been part of her life for 13 years, and with her loving and supportive partner.
