Get to know Anika

Anika Patel specializes in behavioral issues in kids and adolescents, multicultural issues, stress management, anger management, addiction issues, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. Her passion is using play therapy and other modalities to help children and adolescents express their feelings and develop healthy coping skills, a strong sense of self, more self-love and care, and to learn to process their problems so they can grow into adulthood and live a life that is worth experiencing and enjoying. Anika comes from a unique ethnic background and says mental health can be difficult to address and openly discuss without feelings of shame. She has a strong desire to provide support, empathy, and a safe environment for all her clients.

Anika earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a first-generation college student. She is pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Counseling from Tarleton State University in Fort Worth.

After graduating from UT San Antonio, she moved back home and started working in Fort Worth as a Behavioral Therapist and became certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for autistic children and has been certified for 4+ years. Anika currently lives in Haltom City and works part-time at Cook Children’s Child Study Center as an RBT while pursuing her graduate degree.

Anika is happiest when she’s watching a K-drama, New Girl, or her favorite movie. She also likes to listen to music and jam out in the car. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her hobbies are going to concerts, painting, traveling, hiking, and trying out new food places!
