Get to know Dominique
As a single mother of three and the surviving spouse of a US Marine Corps veteran who passed away from leukemia, therapist Dominique Sims understands the weight of grief, the challenges of caregiving, and the complexities of rebuilding after profound loss. These lived experiences shape her work at Lifeologie Counseling Rockwall, and fuel her dedication to walking alongside others as they navigate their own paths.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Dominique earned her Bachelor’s in Speech Communication and Criminal Justice from Portland State University, and later attended Amberton University, where she completed her Master’s in Professional Development.
Before pursuing counseling, Dominique built a meaningful career within the corrections department, supporting young adults, children, teens, and their families through seasons of incarceration, probation, and major life transitions.
Dominique is passionate about helping individuals rediscover hope, meaning, and self-compassion. She especially loves supporting clients as they move forward with love after loss—honoring what was, redefining what is, and imagining what can be.
Her approach integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), mindfulness, and the promotion of physical wellness as a foundation for emotional healing. Dominique strives to help each person build strength, clarity, and confidence as they create meaningful change and step into their next chapter.
