Does your child seem overwhelmed by worry, struggle with big emotions, or have a hard time feeling understood?

Whether they're navigating anxiety, ADHD, autism, giftedness, twice-exceptionality (2e), challenging behaviors, friendship difficulties, low self-esteem or family stress, Meghan Ricardo, LCSW, provides a warm, supportive space where children and preteens can build confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to thrive. Meghan believes every behavior is a form of communication, and she partners with children and their families to understand what lies beneath the surface. Through a compassionate, individualized approach, she helps children strengthen emotional regulation, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

As an experienced play therapist, Meghan believes children communicate through play long before they have the words to express difficult emotions. She creates a warm, engaging environment where children feel safe, accepted, and free to be themselves. Her sessions are interactive, developmentally appropriate, and tailored to each child's unique needs because she believes therapy should be a place children look forward to—a place where healing, growth, and fun can exist together. She also values partnering closely with parents, providing practical tools, education, and encouragement to help families better understand their child's emotions, behaviors, and unique strengths.

Her approach is collaborative, relationship-centered, and evidence-based. Meghan integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy, Directive Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help children better understand themselves and navigate life's challenges. She has a special passion for supporting neurodivergent children, including those with ADHD, autism, giftedness, and twice-exceptionality (2e). Rather than focusing on deficits, Meghan helps children and families recognize strengths, build practical skills, and develop confidence in who they are.

Meghan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from the University of Texas at Arlington. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping children and families navigate anxiety, emotional regulation, neurodiversity, behavioral challenges, and life's transitions. She believes early intervention can have a lasting impact and is committed to helping children develop the confidence and skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and beyond.

One of the greatest joys of Meghan's work is watching children discover strengths they didn't know they had. Whether helping an anxious child face a fear, supporting a neurodivergent child in embracing how their brain works, or celebrating a meaningful milestone with a family, she feels honored to walk alongside children during some of the most important seasons of their growth. Her goal is to help every child leave therapy feeling more confident, capable, and understood than when they first walked through the door.

As a Christian, Meghan strives to reflect compassion, grace, and hope in the care she provides while honoring each family's individual beliefs and values. Outside the therapy office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs, golfing, spending time outdoors, and making memories with family and friends.
