Get to know Mia

Therapist Miyoung "Mia" Lim brings warmth, compassion, and active listening to her work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families at Lifeologie Counseling Dallas Uptown. She specializes in supporting couples in conflict, immigrant families, the elderly and their caregivers, and young adults navigating life transitions.

Mia's diverse background as a parent, immigrant, classically trained musician, and former finance professional informs her approach and gives her insight into helping clients navigate performance anxiety and high-pressure environments. She creates a safe, empathetic space where clients feel heard and supported on their path to healing and growth, and is fluent in English and Korean.

Mia offers person-centered and solution-focused therapies, including mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prepare/Enrich for pre-marital counseling, and the Gottman Method and Restoration Therapy for couples therapy.

Her academic background includes a Master of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from California State University-Fullerton. She has a Master's degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Mia is a lover of classical and church music; her musical background enhances her ability to connect with emotion, expression, and presence in both her personal life and her work as a therapist.

An avid hiker, she has found solace in nature while exploring sections of the Appalachian Trail in Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Mountains. She looks forward to discovering local hiking trails in Dallas and enjoying the natural beauty of Texas.
