He specializes in helping adult children of divorce, or individuals with otherwise chaotic family backgrounds, navigate the multitude of unique obstacles and challenges that can develop from such an upbringing.
Whether these present in the form of role conflict, identity struggles, or outright loyalty conflicts, Pierce recognizes the importance in helping clients learn how to choose themselves. He excels at helping clients identify changes they would like to see within their lives and pursuing them collaboratively.
Pierce also enjoys working with adults and young adults navigating performance issues related to sports, career, and the arts. His desire to help others navigate life’s most difficult transitions comes from a place of empathy and a deep belief that no one should have to face their struggles alone.
In his therapeutic practice, Pierce employs a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and existential therapy. Through CBT, he assists clients in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, using techniques such as cognitive restructuring, grounding exercises, and guided discovery to foster positive change and improve emotional well-being.
His approach to existential therapy involves exploring clients' personal worldviews and illustrating how their choices and actions influence their environment and future. Pierce is committed to understanding and integrating each client’s unique perspectives, aiming to empower them to regain control over their lives and achieve greater autonomy.
Pierce’s passion for counseling was influenced by watching his parents silently carry the weight of stress and complex emotions, and witnessing the toll that these took on his family. As a result, In high school and college, Pierce became the go-to person for friends in need. From heartfelt talks at church events to private conversations at fraternity parties, he was always there, offering a compassionate ear and a steady presence.
Pierce earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University, where he developed a foundational understanding of human behavior and was introduced to the world of counseling.
