Expressive arts therapy is a useful method to teach teens how to express their emotions in a healthy way, and how to effectively cope with the stress they manage on a daily basis. Expressive arts therapy is a great creative outlet for those who feel stuck or those who are struggling to express what they’re experiencing in words. Mindfulness is another helpful skill for teens to have as it helps them to remain grounded in the present and how to regulate their bodies and emotions. Mindfulness can be very helpful for those who may experience anxiety, depression, and everyday stressful or overwhelming situations.
This will be an art group designed specifically for teens ages 13-17. They will learn techniques to use art in a fun way that will also help them develop mindfulness skills. The workshop does not require art skills, come as you are! The goal is to have fun while learning new tools to effectively manage stress. All materials and a light snack will be provided.
