Get to know Abby

Abby Lyon is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis on Trauma. She sees children and young adults and has experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, ADHD, substance abuse, family issues, and working with the LGBTQ+ population.

Whether you’re grappling with a major life transition, struggling with low self-worth, depression, anxiety, or just plain tired of doing the same old thing and expecting different results, then Abby can’t wait to work with you!  Come as you are. Get inspired. Do the work. Make the change.

Abby has a deep appreciation for diversity and inclusion. She truly appreciates differences in cultures, styles, traditions, and perspectives because she believes our uniqueness is our superpower. It’s what allows us to be innovative, solve complex problems, overcome adversity, and effectuate positive change as individuals and part of the collective whole.

Abby is fascinated with human development and how we can connect on a deeper level with others to bring about lasting behavior change. This change, she believes, happens when there is a fundamental level of trust and rapport in the therapeutic relationship. Once established, Abby supports others by exploring patterns and beliefs that often keep us stuck and unhappy, with a goal to not only increase our awareness but to take the leap and shift focus, develop new habits, and get unstuck. Permanently.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University and is a third-year master’s level student at Grand Canyon University.

In her free time, you can find Abby exploring the great outdoors, playing the drums, exercising, attending church, and whipping up a delicious bake!
