Alexa Vargas is a Master’s Level Intern who offers therapy in English and Spanish for children, emerging adults, and adults at Lifeologie Counseling Fort Worth. As a Latina and bilingual counseling practicum student, Alexa values the importance of cultural identity, representation, and creating a space where clients feel seen. She specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, ADHD, OCD, depression, and life transitions, and in supporting children who are experiencing bullying and emotional or behavioral challenges.
Alexa is passionate about helping children develop the emotional skills and confidence they need to navigate challenges early in life. She believes that providing children with a safe space to express themselves and process difficult experiences can have a lasting impact on their long-term emotional well-being.
In her work with adults, Alex also offers counseling for women’s issues, focusing on women who may have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood, whose experiences and symptoms may have gone unrecognized, or who have received an ADHD diagnosis as adults. She is gifted at helping women better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and navigate ongoing challenges.
Alexa is currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Development at Texas Woman’s University. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Texas Christian University.
With a collaborative, person-centered approach, Alexa begins therapy with the idea that clients are the ones who most understand their lives. Her job is to listen well and ask the right questions. She adjusts how she works with clients based on identifying their strengths and helping them explore what they've been through, what they care about, and what they're hoping to change. She strives to create a warm, authentic, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to share their experiences and explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace.
Outside of her work at Lifeologie, Alexa enjoys electronic dance music and the sense of community that comes with attending music festivals.
