Looking for someone to support your child or teen with their mental health? Cheryl Tennihill is your person! Cheryl is experienced in helping young children and teens with trauma, depression, anxiety, difficult transitions, behavioral concerns, and all of the other things that kids and teens have to navigate these days!
Cheryl is strengths-based, and incorporates Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This all means that Cheryl is going to work really hard to make sure your child or teen feels safe in the room and then utilize the best approach to support them.
Cheryl grew up in Portland, Michigan and attended Spring Arbor University, where she received her Master of Social Work (MSW). She worked as a home-based therapist for several years. She later received her certification in Behavior Analysis from the Florida Institute of Technology. Cheryl has spent the last 5 years as a school social worker, supporting students in special education and loves it!
When she isn’t working, Cheryl loves walking in nature, kayaking, camping, or cheering on her kids at their sporting events.
