Get to know Diana

Diana is currently pursuing a Master’s in Counseling at the University of North Texas Denton. She specializes in play therapy but also enjoys working with young adults and the Latinx community. Diana is passionate about helping those experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and cultural and gender issues. Her approach to counseling is primarily Person-Centered in theory but is open to other techniques if they will better help her clients achieve their goals.

Diana completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas in 2018 making her the first person in her family to earn a degree. After graduating, she moved back home and worked as a registered behavior technician for three years.

Diana has struggled with anxiety since childhood which she was not made aware of until her teenage years due to the lack of mental health advocacy in the Hispanic culture. Her experiences led her to realize she wanted to help others identify and work through their problems. Diana works to create a safe space for individuals to grow, heal, and be empowered to live their best lives.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Stark. She also enjoys alone time, watching movies, and going to concerts.
