As the Clinical Director for Lifeologie Counseling's Raleigh and Durham locations, Elizabeth Grady, PhD, (Dr. Liz) leads a talented team of compassionate, highly skilled therapists while providing clinical supervision and mentorship to newly licensed counselors. She is passionate about creating an environment where clinicians feel supported, challenged, and inspired to become the very best versions of themselves. Her leadership style is collaborative, encouraging, and grounded in the belief that when therapists continue to grow, clients receive the highest quality care.
Dr. Liz has dedicated more than 20 years to serving adolescents, adults, families, and communities throughout North Carolina's Triangle region.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and Board Certified Tele-Mental Health (BC-TMH) Counselor, Dr. Liz brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every aspect of her work. She has advanced training in EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and enjoys helping therapists thoughtfully integrate evidence-based practices into their clinical work while remaining authentic to their own therapeutic style. She also has a super cute, furry companion named Honey Bunches of Love! As an Animal Assisted Therapist Interventionist (AATI), Dr. Liz often brings Honey along to join counseling and supervision sessions.
She earned both her Master of Education in Counseling and her PhD in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University, where she researched evidence-based practices that prepare the next generation of counselors to serve people seeking mental health care and wellness.
Before joining Lifeologie, Dr. Liz served in several leadership roles across community mental health organizations, where she provided leadership and oversight for large multidisciplinary behavioral health teams. These experiences strengthened her passion for building healthy teams, mentoring developing clinicians, and creating systems that allow both providers and clients to thrive. Today, she brings that same vision and energy to expanding and strengthening Lifeologie Counseling's presence across the Triangle while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
One of Dr. Liz's greatest professional joys is supervising and mentoring counselors as they develop confidence, sharpen their clinical skills, and discover their own unique strengths as therapists. She believes supervision should be a place where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and learning feels both meaningful and enjoyable. Her goal is to cultivate clinicians who are not only highly skilled, but also compassionate, self-aware, culturally responsive, and deeply connected to the people they serve.
Community involvement has always been an important part of Dr. Liz's professional life. She is an active supporter of the counseling profession throughout North Carolina and has presented at local, state, and national conferences for organizations including the Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC), the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), and the American Counseling Association (ACA). After serving for five years on the LCCNC Board of Directors, she was honored to serve as President of the association, advocating for counselors, promoting the profession, and helping shape the future of mental health care across the state.
Dr. Liz believes that every person's story deserves to be understood within the context of their unique life experiences, culture, and identity. She encourages the therapists she supervises to approach each client with empathy, humility, curiosity, and respect, recognizing that meaningful healing begins with feeling truly seen and understood.
Whether she is mentoring a newly licensed therapist, collaborating with experienced clinicians, teaching future counselors, or supporting someone on their personal healing journey, her approach is rooted in warmth, authenticity, connection, and a genuine belief in people's capacity for growth.
Dr. Liz is excited about the future of Lifeologie Counseling and is dedicated to continuing its growth throughout the Triangle by building exceptional clinical teams, developing outstanding leaders, and ensuring clients have access to compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. She believes that investing in people, both clients and clinicians, is the foundation for lasting positive change and is honored to help shape a practice where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
