Get to know Elliot

Elliot Lee specializes in helping young adults and adults work through anxiety, depression, OCD, complex trauma, spirituality, family relationships, identity, and anger management issues at Lifeologie Counseling Frisco. Mixing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with other mindfulness and contemplative approaches and a deep understanding of trauma, Elliot is eager to listen to discover resources in your life and witness to the challenges you’ve overcome.

As an immigrant to the United States, Elliot faced various cultural, social, and economic challenges during his adolescence, which formed in him a passion for wholeness and well-being. Working through the resulting depression, trauma, and identity confusion for many years, he came to experience first-hand healing and growth that he now seeks to share with his clients. The experiences of these transformative years form the building blocks of Elliot’s approach.

Elliot’s basic commitment is to treat you with unconditional warmth and regard, ushering in the conviction that all things in life can be met and worked through with wakeful presence and in nurturing connection with others. The safety provided by this will help you explore without fear of judgment your past, habits, and beliefs.

This is a process whereby you will gain confidence that you can be understood, that you make sense, dissolving shame and helping you to open up to further connection with others–connection inviting presence, and presence inviting connection.

The truth is that our sense of who we are is always bound up with others' perceptions: We learn to love ourselves from being loved. We learn gentleness from being addressed gently. We grow and heal as we hear words that understand and nurture us—not some cheap, premade words, but words born from attuned, heart-to-heart engagement.

Over time, fragmented parts of your personality can become whole, anxiety can turn into acceptance, and depression can give way to vitality and a readiness to face life. Who knows? One day you might be able to look back at everything with a lens of gratitude!

Elliot has a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and is certified in Spiritual Direction from HeartPaths DFW. He is also a certified Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Provider.

Elliot is fluent in English and in Korean.

During his free time, Elliot enjoys cooking, reading, writing, searching for the next favorite indie rock or electronic record, watching Mixed Martial Arts, and attending Eastern Orthodox services and mindfulness meditation gatherings. Elliot also works as a caretaker for his dad, who suffers from dementia.
