Get to know Peyton
Combining a reflective and empathetic nature with her dedication to helping clients of all backgrounds grow and thrive, Fort Worth therapist Peyton Fandrey specializes in working with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, burnout, depression, and life transitions, couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship, and women exploring their individuality, roles, and challenges. She incorporates mindfulness techniques into her therapeutic approach, as well as role playing for anxiety and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) for depression and PTSD.
As a military child, Peyton was able to live in many different states and countries, which nurtured her love of travel. Those experiences also made her sensitive to the uniqueness of people and their backgrounds and cultures, fostering her cultural competence and adaptability as a therapist.
Peyton became a therapist because she struggled with life transitions and anxiety from a young age, and saw firsthand how much therapy was able to help her grow and succeed. She also witnessed the benefits of therapy for her mother, who navigated trauma and long separations from family during her own career in the military.
Peyton is currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas at Dallas, and previously earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Studies from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville.
She is an avid book reader who loves being immersed in different worlds and stories and learning details about the characters she finds on the page. She enjoys traveling, especially being able to see new places, meet new people, and try new foods.
