Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself, stuck in survival mode, overwhelmed by emotions, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together. You may struggle with trauma, dissociation, identity confusion, perfectionism, body image concerns, or a constant inner battle around food, control, and self-worth. At times, it may feel like different parts of you are pulling in opposite directions, leaving you emotionally drained, misunderstood, or alone. Healing can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate it by yourself.
At Lifeologie Counseling Rockwall, therapist Denna Neighbors works with adults 18 and up navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, dissociation, eating disorders, low self-esteem, and boundary issues. Denna also specializes in supporting clients with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), a rare but challenging diagnosis that often results from severe childhood trauma and abuse.
Many of her clients are adults living with the effects of complex trauma, dissociation, and eating disorders who have spent years surviving by becoming high-functioning, perfectionistic, or focused on caring for others while quietly struggling internally. Many feel disconnected from themselves, exhausted from managing overwhelming emotions, relationships, body image concerns, or protective coping patterns completely on their own.
Denna’s approach is warm, grounded, collaborative, and deeply compassionate. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, somatic work, and mindfulness-based tools into sessions. Her goal is to help clients understand their story, safely process painful experiences, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect with their authentic selves in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
Before becoming a therapist, Denna spent more than 20 years in the medical field working in orthopedics and internal medicine. That experience gave her firsthand insight into stress, burnout, caregiving fatigue, and the emotional weight so many people carry, especially those in high-pressure or helping professions. It shaped the empathy and practical understanding she brings into the therapy room today.
Denna’s own healing journey began after the sudden loss of her husband. That experience changed her life and ultimately called her into this work with a deeper sense of purpose, compassion, and understanding of grief and resilience. Today, she lives in a blended family with her daughter, stepson, and partner, and understands both the beauty and complexity of love, parenting, healing, and starting over.
Outside the therapy room, you can usually find her cheering at volleyball games or watching documentaries.
Denna looks forward to creating a space where you can exhale, let your guard down, and feel safe enough to truly be yourself while moving toward healing, stability, and growth.
