Get to know Lily

Lily Annino is a therapist intern specializing in work with children ages 8 and up, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relationship challenges. She also supports clients facing life transitions, school-related stress, and the unique landscape of modern dating.

Drawing from a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Lily helps clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build practical skills for lasting change. She is especially gifted at helping children and teenagers put language to their emotions and coaching parents on how to listen, particularly when the conversation feels uncomfortable. Lily believes that an angry or dysregulated child or teen does not indicate something is “wrong.” It often means they are ready to learn a new way to understand and express emotions.

As a member of Gen Z herself, Lily has a deep understanding of the frustration, confusion, and emotional fatigue that often come with dating in the digital age. She works closely with young adults navigating online dating, whether that means managing dating anxiety, coping with ghosting, building confidence, or addressing the uncertainty that comes with creating a dating profile and putting oneself out there. Lily helps clients make sense of modern dating norms while staying grounded in their values, boundaries, and emotional needs, blending validation, insight, and evidence-based strategies along the way.

Lily is also open to working with young couples, particularly Gen Z partners, as they navigate early relationship milestones such as moving in together, improving communication, managing conflict, and adjusting expectations as the relationship evolves. She supports couples in building healthy patterns early on, strengthening emotional connection, and learning how to navigate challenges as a team.

Lily’s passion lies in supporting clients through life’s challenges with warmth, empathy, and a collaborative approach. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. Her work balances structure and flexibility, offering tools grounded in evidence-based practices while tailoring each session to the individual’s unique strengths and needs.

From the very first session, Lily prioritizes building connection and exploring therapeutic fit, ensuring clients feel comfortable before diving into deeper work. She shows up authentically in every session, recognizing that she is human too, and believes this honesty fosters genuine trust and meaningful therapeutic relationships.

Originally from Newport Beach, California, Lily earned her Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University (“War Eagle!”)  and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling at Southern Methodist University (SMU). She is an active member of the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society, and the Association for Play Therapy.

Outside of the therapy room, Lily enjoys reading, watching scary movies, journaling, spending time with her family and partner, and exploring new restaurants and activities around Dallas.
