Get to know Pierce

Pierce Anderson specializes in working with adult children of divorce and individuals with otherwise chaotic family histories. He has a knack for guiding adults from diverse backgrounds through various life challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, stress management, and identity development. Whether these present in the form of role conflict, identity struggles, or outright loyalty conflicts, he focuses on helping clients learn how to choose themselves daily.

He also works with adults and young adults facing performance issues in sports, careers, and the arts. When confidence or production takes an unexpected dive, Pierce helps uncover the stressors or patterns behind it and collaborates with clients to get them back on track.

Pierce’s therapeutic approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and existential therapy. CBT is a highly researched, evidence-based approach widely known to be effective for anxiety, depression, stress, and many other issues. In combination with existential therapy, Pierce helps clients uncover patterns, confront avoidance, and identify decisions that align with their personal values. Pierce also frequently incorporates person-centered therapy in his sessions.

Pierce’s passion for counseling was influenced by his experience with his own parents’ divorce, witnessing the toll it took on his family. As a result, he slowly became the go-to person for friends in need, a role he continues to embrace, driven by a belief that pain doesn’t have to be navigated alone.

Pierce earned his Bachelors in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University, where he met his wife and developed a foundational understanding of human behavior. He graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD), and is currently practicing as an LPC-Associate at Lifeologie’s Uptown and Oak Cliff locations under the supervision of Melanie Wells, LPC-S.

Outside the office, Pierce’s love for competition keeps him busy - whether rolling in Jiu Jitsu or competing in esports tournaments. He dedicates the remainder of his time to his loving wife and their two spoiled dogs.
