Get to know Sydney
Dallas therapist Sydney Jones specializes in helping people navigate the career arc of high-pressure and demanding occupations, such as financial professionals, sales executives, health care professionals, attorneys, athletes, and elite performers who are trying to balance life, family, and career growth without burnout. From start to finish, Sydney can help with anxiety, stress management, time and energy management, the pressure to succeed, and finding purpose. Sometimes this includes navigating or grieving a difficult shift following job change, divorce, injury, or the end of collegiate or professional performance. If these life transitions have caused an emotional or physical separation with your partner, she offers excellent guidance for couples. With her teen clients, Sydney is the perfect mix of cool big sister, instructional coach and “tell you straight up” friend. She helps anxious and depressed teenagers find their own identity, like those lost within a highly successful family, or the athlete or high performer that must balance academics, athletics and self-care. Sydney helps teens experiencing all the “firsts” – like expressing how you feel to parents, time-management, grief, dating, and leaving home for college. Sydney can help you discover yourself while at college or working through the stress of finding and starting a career.
Sydney is from nearby Southlake, Texas. Following high school, she earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Management from Siena College in New York. This good southern girl didn’t go north just for academics. She comes from a long line of formidable women and is a fierce competitor. Sydney was a four-year starter and captain for Siena’s NCAA Division I water polo team, while a four year Academic All-American.
Sydney is completing her MA degree in Clinical Mental Health at UNT-Dallas. In addition to being a full time student, Sydney bartends in a retirement community, providing delicious cocktails and a listening ear to the residents. At every available opportunity she teaches swim lessons, coaches water polo, and spends time with her long-distance boyfriend via FaceTimed noodle nights, movie debriefs, and Wall Street Journal crossword puzzle.
