Get to know Elaina

Elaina Beittel is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate who works with young adults, adolescents, children, the neurodiverse, and the LGBTQIA+ population as they navigate identity development, emotional understanding and regulation, and the stress of everyday life. She works with her clients to unpack complex and childhood trauma and PTSD to uncover how their past is influencing their present. She also supports her clients as they navigate life with ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, OCD, thoughts of self-harm, and interpersonal relationships.

Elaina is passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate through understanding their identities and the everyday complexities of the world. She is a compassionate, understanding, caring, and encouraging listener who strives to assist her clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves.

As Elaina identifies as a queer woman, she recognizes the importance of creating a safe and affirming environment for her clients to explore their identity, sexuality, and gender. By utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and values work, Elaina assists her clients in identifying and managing negative thought patterns and behaviors, understanding the reasons behind their actions, and developing coping skills and problem-solving strategies. She also offers Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help her clients with emotional understanding, regulation, and interpersonal relationship distress.

Elaina earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Political Science at the University of Rochester in Upstate New York. It was here that her passion for working with adolescents and young adults took root. Through her work as a counselor and researcher with children exposed to trauma and violence, Elaina began to understand the impact our unresolved past can have on us in the present. Elaina then earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at North Carolina State University and began working as an intern at Lifeologie, where working with a diverse range of clients solidified her passion for counseling. She strives to continue using her identity as a mental health practitioner to advocate for and support her clients in ways that best meet their needs.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her adorable cat, Piper. She especially loves getting together with her friends and playing board games or taking long walks in nature. She believes that one of the best ways to cure a bad day is to get outside with loved ones and take a walk. She also enjoys reading, watching TV, cooking, and baking. She often spends her time binge-watching whatever show is her current fixation, while working on a new craft she will likely never finish.
