Get to know Karen

Karen Hoffman, LPC, is dedicated to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds who are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, life transitions, PTSD, and grief. Her approach centers on collaboration, helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge their validity, and cultivate healthy coping skills and self-compassion.

At the heart of Karen’s practice is the belief that you are more than your circumstances, and connecting with your true self is essential. She uses a positive, holistic, trauma-informed framework, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and techniques from Motivational Interviewing, as well as her experience with 12-step and SMART recovery programs.

No stranger to studying the interior life, Karen received her BS in Interior Design from Stephen F Austin State University and earned her MA in Professional Counseling from Amberton University.

During Karen’s first session with clients, she focuses on building rapport and listening to understand their unique story and goals for counseling. Many clients share that they feel uplifted after their conversations with Karen, and continue to reflect on their discussions long after. She believes we all possess our own answers, and looks forward to exploring them together with you in a compassionate, safe, and nonjudgmental environment.
