Get to know Philip

Philip Valentinetti specializes in treating adults with anxiety, depression, grief, codependency, boundary issues, personality disorders, and addiction. He has experience providing individual, couples, and group counseling in private practice, IOP/PHP, and residential settings. Philip uses gestalt, solution-focused, and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) approaches to help clients gain awareness of stuck patterns, feelings, and thoughts which hold clients back from healthfully and intentionally meeting the challenges they face.

Born and raised in Coppell, TX, Philip received his Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from New York University. Following successful careers in yoga teaching, restaurant management, and massage therapy, he completed his Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Woman’s University.

Philip leverages his eclectic professional history and deep love of authentic communication to create a safe and compassionate environment for clients to explore their own needs. He understands that everyone encounters times in their life when circumstances, challenges, or relationships feel overwhelming, especially when our mental resources are low. Feelings of anxiety, depression, uncertainty, and loss of identity can disconnect us from who we want to be. Philip enjoys working with clients as they encounter these life transitions, whether obviously big or seemingly small.

Philip loves variety above all else. When he’s not at Lifeologie Counseling, he frequently likes to curl up with a fantasy novel, play tabletop games or kickball, and spend time outside. From a young age, he has always possessed a deep appreciation for all kinds of travel, especially backpacking. In his down time, you may often find him daydreaming about where the next adventure will lead!
