Get to know Sydney

Sydney Jones is the perfect mix of cool big sister, instructional coach and “tell you straight up” friend. She helps anxious and depressed teenagers find their own identity, like those lost within a highly successful family, or the athlete or high performer that must balance academics, athletics and self-care. Sydney helps teens experiencing all the “firsts” –  like expressing how you feel to parents, time-management, grief, dating, and leaving home for college.

If you’re already out of the home, Sydney can help you discover yourself while at college, and work through the stress of finding and starting a career afterwards. If life transitions have separated you from your partner, she offers excellent guidance for helping couples in long-distance relationships.

Sydney takes special interest in the career arc of high pressure, demanding occupations such as athletes, elite performers, sales, financial professionals, medical professionals, nurses and attorneys working within the narrow margins of family, career growth and burnout. From start to finish, Sydney can assist with time management, energy management, the pressure to succeed, and purpose. Sometimes this includes navigating or grieving a difficult shift following job change, divorce, injury, or the end of collegiate or professional performance.

Sydney is from nearby Southlake, Texas. Following high school she earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Management from Siena College in New York. This good southern girl didn’t go north just for academics. She comes from a long line of formidable women and is a fierce competitor. Sydney was a four-year starter and captain for Siena’s NCAA Division I water polo team, while a four year Academic All-American.

Sydney is completing her MA degree in Clinical Mental Health at UNT-Dallas. In addition to being a full time student, Sydney bartends in a retirement community, providing delicious cocktails and a listening ear to the residents. At every available opportunity she teaches swim lessons, coaches water polo, and spends time with her long-distance boyfriend via FaceTimed noodle nights, movie debriefs, and the Wall Street crossword puzzle.
