Christina Homs is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience in trauma, abuse and traumatic grief. She is EMDR-trained and certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and has experience in private practice, child advocacy centers and behavioral health hospitals, working with individuals to address their unique needs in stress management, women's issues, mindfulness, and grief. Her professional interests include helping children, adolescents, adults, and families overcome the challenges of harmful experiences to build brighter futures. In a safe and supportive environment, she empowers individuals to unlock their innate healing potential through mind-body practices, addressing the root causes of trauma, anxiety, and depression.

Christina earned her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and completed a dual Masters in School Counseling and Professional Counseling. Prior to counseling, she spent 15 years as an elementary school teacher, including four years in South Korea.  As a Honduran and Puerto Rican Texan, she brings a unique perspective and cultural understanding to her practice.

Through personalized guidance, Christina supports clients in finding coping tools that fit their unique challenges and daily routines. She offers her clients a compassionate and non-judgmental space, allowing individuals to explore and overcome their limiting beliefs (schemas) that stand in the way of healing. Christina provides a space for clients to feel heard and understood, recognizing that human responses to stressors and adverse experiences vary greatly.

When away from the therapy room, Christina finds joy in both energetic and nurturing activities. She embarks on adventures around the globe, collecting stories and stamps. She finds travel to be both personally rewarding and emotionally healing, providing opportunities to connect with herself in new environments. She also enjoys lively dances as well as cozy evenings with friends and family.
