Get to know Michelle

Are you a parent watching your child struggle with emotional outbursts or negative self-talk—and feeling helpless in how to support them? Maybe you’re a teen or young adult trying to manage the weight of anxiety, depression, or the constant pressure to “have it all together.” Michelle Honoré understands how overwhelming those moments can feel.

Michelle specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, anger management, life transitions, and emotional regulation. She has experience working with families navigating divorce, co-parenting dynamics, and the transitions that come with blending households, offering compassionate guidance and practical tools for growth and connection. Her warm, thoughtful approach helps clients feel truly seen and supported.

With younger children, Michelle uses play and art therapy techniques that make emotional expression feel natural and safe. With teens and young adults, she integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) strategies to build insight, coping skills, and emotional balance—helping them develop a healthier relationship with anxiety and reclaim their confidence.

Before becoming a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Michelle served as a National Board Certified School Counselor in North and South Carolina for 13 years. That experience has given her a deep understanding of the challenges families face, both at home and in academic settings. She holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and a post-graduate certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University in Texas.

As a mom of three, Michelle knows firsthand that there’s no such thing as perfect parenting, and that self-compassion is essential. Her own journey through burnout and rediscovering balance inspired her transition into mental health counseling. Today, she helps her clients do the same: shift unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.

Michelle is currently accepting new clients at Lifeologie Counseling St. Johns. With compassion and expertise, she helps her clients find calm, confidence, and a sense of control through evidence-based approaches that foster healing and growth.
