Get to know Cynthia

Cynthia loves working with children, tweens, and teens by creating a fun and creative space to express their unique individual identities. Cynthia strives to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment for the clients she serves in order to promote a safe space for healing. She hopes to establish a collaborative relationship not only with her child and adolescent clients, but also with their parents to create a loving, positive, and healthy family system in the household. She works from a positive, collaborative, strengths-based therapeutic approach to help clients acknowledge various unique contexts that impact their lives, connect with their strengths, and learn new ways to live in wholeness. Cynthia strives to help her clients increase their self-esteem and helping them overcome obstacles and identify strengths and goals to become resilient in future challenges.

Born and raised in the good ol’ state of Texas, Cynthia is working towards her Master’s in clinical mental health at the University of North Texas at Dallas. While teaching pre-kindergarten, she realized that all children have unique and independent strengths that make them incredibly special.  Cynthia loves to help others realize their own potentials and increase their outlook on life. She also loves observing and trying to understand behavior, that is when she realized that counseling would be a rewarding career that would fuse both interests into one.

In her free time, Cynthia loves to go thrift shopping, trying new foods, working out, and taking lots of naps! She enjoys game/movie nights with her friends. Also, Cynthia is very family-based, so she is happiest when she is spending time with her family-whether they are home watching movies or enjoying a nice conversation over a home-cooked meal. Cynthia also loves to travel to new places and you’ll usually catch her cheering on her favorite football team on Sunday!
