Karen is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Certified Family Life Educator, and Board-Certified Tele Mental Health Provider (BC-TMHP). She believes that her clients are best served through a team approach, and often collaborates with other providers (Primary Care Physician, Psychiatrist, School Staff, etc.) when and if needed for the optimization of treatment outcomes. She uses a variety of theories, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

When healing is done the right way, it leads to peace, joy, and self-love. However, to get there, you have to visit the darkest parts of your past, feel the very things that you suppressed for a reason, and confront parts of yourself that are hard to look at. It's a total life-overhaul that affects your relationship with everyone and everything, especially yourself. Therapy is a journey, and Karen will walk alongside you and collaborate with you to identify goals as you work to become your best self. Relationships are important, and Karen will teach, coach, and help you integrate new skills into your life to help you manage difficult situations you may have been experiencing.

Karen was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and attended both undergraduate and graduate school at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She loves being an ECU Pirate Fan! In her free time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, spending time at the beach, and competitive cheer with her two daughters.
